NorEats is here to promote Norwich’s independent eateries, and as such collects minimal user data. However, some website data is collected to make the website the best it can be and to provide users with information they have signed up to receive. Please see below for more information.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
If you get in touch via a contact form, this message will be sent to the website admin as an email. This email will include your IP address, timestamp, name, email address, website (if provided), and message. This information will be used only to respond to your query.
As Akismet, a spam filter, is enabled on the site, the contact form submission data — IP address, user agent, name, email address, website, and message — is submitted to the Akismet service (also owned by Automattic) for the sole purpose of spam checking.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. NorEats uses Google Analytics, a data processor, to track website data such as page views and user location (by country). This does not include any data that will identify you. Information is retained by Google Analytics for 14 months. For more information on Google Analytics, please click here.
In order to record page views via WordPress.com Stats the following information is used: IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code.
How long we retain your data
Subscriber data (the email address you supplied when signing up for website updates) will be used only to provide the post notifications you requested when signing up, and held until you chose to unsubscribe from post notifications. This can be done at any time.
Under no circumstances will data be sold.
What rights you have over your data
You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
