It’s not often that you find a menu that has equal focus on meat dishes and vegetarian and vegan alternatives – but that’s exactly what you can expect at House on St Benedicts.
It’s a welcome change to the many cafes and restaurants that focus on a meat-based menu with a couple of token vegetarian options (we’re looking at you, spinach and ricotta cannelloni, and you, portobello mushroom burger). Here, there’s a breakfast for everyone, in great portions with plenty of toast and lashings of butter to soak it in, and with sofas and comfy chairs for you to sink into when you’ve tucked all that away.
For those that are more brunch than fry up, there are various eggs benedict options, pancakes, and toasties. And if you’re not in the mood for something big, there’s a cake counter too. The team at House also offers gluten-free options, alternative milks, and a children’s menu, alongside their organic, Fairtrade coffee.
Big, varied breakfasts in a cosy room that makes you feel right at home, but without any of the washing up to do? Count us in!
